Hi Guys,

I was after a recommendations for a Curry House around Woking and villages for and dinner with old workmates tomorrow night - years ago our old work haunt was Jaipur in the town centre, but in the last few years it has gone from resonable, downhill and more expensive. Everything from beer to narns, the prices are taking the p1ss.

So I wanted the views of the TV&S massive. I had heard one in St. Johns was quite good? Out of the way is fine, as we have one non drinker who is our usually taxi service smile

Charlie will know what it was called, it wasn't cheap but was really good food, I want to say the Amish but that wasn't it (I don't think).

Amish is in Chobham from what I can see.

Asiana seems to be a new one in St Johns. I think it was the local rag a few weeks back I read up that one of them in St Johns won the Curry Award for the area.

Oh yes to thali thali. Very unusual, contemporary style food, but absolutely 'kin lovely. Try the barbequed quail starter lick

Star of India in Send is also very good, but might be a bit out of the way for you.

Try the Vojon in St Johns, very famous in local area, great food and the owner Zac is a really nice guy.

Word of warning, always book a table.

Agreed, Thali Thali is nice - took my parents there last year, but I thought it was a Thai restaurant, until we sat down and opened the menu. Nice food.

Anyhow, last Saturday my friends came by, and I decided that I would take them on a "mystery tour" to Brookwood, and the Indian in the pub for something different. We drive up around 8pm, to find it was empty, well apart from 3 fat bints in appropriately dressed. One look, and everyone said no way...
So a drive back to Woking (one of the guys we picked up from a pub in Woking, and was most pee'd off that we called and told him he had to down his pint in 3 minutes because of me) to where we started. The group had decided that they had enough of my poor leading, and we were going to Japuirs. But it was full bounce so ended up going to next nearest that was Bombay Nights. Food was good, but beer was £4.50 a pint. At least they gave a round on the house after we paid.

Will have to try Vojon, sounds alright...

Yea, thanks for the tour of Woking, Stu wink I have missed it so much laugh

On hindsight, should have done a drive by later down the High Street when I left and woken everyone up smokin

What are you doing lurking over here? smile

I seem to remember you say you would go back to our old employeer at a drop of a hat (now the rubbish management has gone), so admit it, you also do miss Woking laugh

I did get a comment from the old busy body neighbour on a yellow car the next day... I don't think it was just my neighbours that you woke up, but everyone down to Guildford biggrin Still being able to hear you after a good 4 miles is a bloody good effort!
