I need to borrow a mallet for a day or 2.

Does anyone have one I can borrow? I'll happily come and collect (if you're not too far away).

Long handled, or short handled will do (or maybe both)!

Many thanks in advance,

K

Stupid question but what type? Rubber, wood, Nylon? What you planning on destroying?

I've got 28 stakes (2 foot long) that need knocking into the ground - and the best I've got is a measly hammer frown

Any type will do yes

How thick are they? ie Would Mr Sledge be better to get a decent swing?

Well - not that thick. Certainly not as thick as me anyway.

I'm guessing about 2 inches square.

So, how deep....

Inches count. 3" easy. 12 " harder.

I thought that at the beginning! For less than a fiver he could have been sorted!

But then how else would I have whiled away 15mins at home on my own?

So is that a resounding no from everyone frown

I don't see the point in spending a fiver for something I'll only use for 20 minutes*

Sorry Ben - I didn't believe you were serious.

Actually - if you do pop around - then we can sort out the other thing we discussed last night (if you remember) thumbup

2 birds - 1 stone and all that.

If there's still a shortage of the necessary by lunchtime Sunday, I have a club hammer you could borrow - also a crow bar I use first if the ground is stoney or harder than the wooden stakes.
