Just looking to see how many of you have attended Weddings in and around the North Hampshire area as myself and GF are looking for venues, we have found all the obvious places but were wondering what other unknown/less well advertised places were available.

If anyone has any suggestions that would be great, looking at about 30mins drive from Hartley Wintney church to venue. Wedding will be next summer if that has any bearing on the venue.

Many Thanks

Alex

Just north of Hants but I've been to excellent weddings at both of these:

Wokefield Park:

A couple of obvious ones are:

Four Seasons, Dogmersfield
Warbrook House, Eversley
Pennyhill Park, Bagshot

Cheers and keep them coming, we have already been to the 4 Seasons, Heckfield Place, Highfield Park, Warbrook, Tilney Hall.

We are going to look at a few restarants that can do all day things as well such as the New Inn near Eversley.

GF is a bit apprehensive about spending large amounts (even if we can just about afford it)!

Try Great Fosters in Egham. It is a four star hotel, great food and depending on what time of year you want it has a really nice area for your photos. The hotel has two rooms to use. One called the orangery and one called the tithe barn. The barn is where you want to be. Minimum numbers during wedding season and on a Friday Saturday is 100-120. if you plan on getting married between November and April you can always negotiate on the minimum numbers and get it to around 80pax, the hotel may compromise and ask you to put the minimum spend per head up but ultimately it wont cost as much. Remember around May to October is wedding season which is going to be expensive and you may not get what you want and the date you want. Around this area there are loads of places for your wedding. I work at Pennyhill so if you want I can arrange a show round for you and your GF.

Just outside N Hants in Swallowfield, Berks (off the A33 bypass)

Millhouse Hotel

Got married to Mrs Puggit here. 16 room hotel that specialises in weddings at weekends and corporate seminars in the week - so they are experts, and you get the whole pad to yourselves.

Don't judge it from the website - go take a look biggrin

We went there on Sunday morning to have a nosy, it looked good for what we wanted but my only problem was that live bands were not allowed in the planning permission. I suppose it all depends upon how good the disco is! I just have this mental image of school discos.

Why get married?

Just find someone you don't like and buy them a house.

Ahhhhhh...

If you want a band then maybe you are right. We actually set up an iTunes playlist on a laptop, borrowed a mate's DJing speakers, spent £50 on renting lighting and put the rest of the money behind the bar biggrin

Around 17-20k but for that you get 70 people sit-down in the library. canapés and champagne on arrival, a toast master to run the day, the wedding breakfast to include either 3 or 4 courses, half a bottle of wine and half a bottle of water per person, room hire, you will also get a separate room for your evening reception, private bar and 10 bedrooms. keep in mind that it is the best 5* hotel out of london, lots of celebs hang out here the england rugby team is coming back to train here blah blah blah. just let me know if i can help anymore.smile

Anyone eaten here?

Nice place - i haven't eaten there during a wedding but when ive eaten there on a night out, it's always been good.

Tilney Hall is good too, i was there for a wedding in June and it was great.

I have a great band recommendation as well from a wedding recently, best wedding band i've seen.

Good luck!!

It has already been mentioned but Great Fosters in Egham is an excellent venue in superb surroundings. The missus and I held our reception there 11 years ago and could not fault the venue, food or the staff!

Only thing is its probably a little more than 30 mins from HW
