Tapas in town centre:

Just outside of Henley, really great pub food:
http://www.crownpishill.co.uk/
If you want Italian then Antico suggested above is very good or Villa Marina:

Another vote for the Crown in Pishill (shuts during afternoon!) or http://www.blackboysinn.co.uk/ in Hurley.

After always promising myself to go one day, my wife & I went to Loch Fyne in Henley last Monday and was surprisingly underwhelmed by the experience.
As it turned out, it was an expensive meal of mediocre food and pretty ordinary service (although I knew it was a mistake going on a Monday, which is a bad day for fish....)
Also I kept thinking about the news article about Loch Fyne staff who have their below minimum wages topped up from tips, and it shows...
Another vote for La Bodega, but only for tapas & a bottle of Rioja in the bar, not the full (and in my opinion expensive) restaurant experience. They also keep refilling your wine glass which I find is very annoying. The Little Angel - (over the bridge) is worth a visit, Spice Merchant is for me a safe bet as a consistent curry house, and Hotel Du Vin is well worth a look. Service there is a bit haphazard but the wine list is great, you'll get a great steak and the converted Brewery restaurant/bar is very impressive.

or you can try www.stgeorgeanddragon.co.uk/ which is just down the road in Wargrave.
Great outdoors setting next to the river... weather permitting.

I've been to Loch Fyne in Henley recently and I agree that the food is overpriced and the service is terrible. I certainly wouldn't go back, in fact it's put me off going to any Loch Fyne in future. As it turned out, it was an expensive meal of mediocre food and pretty ordinary service (although I knew it was a mistake going on a Monday, which is a bad day for fish....)
