Apologies if something is already organised, can't find a post with details. I'm based in Bagshot, would like to have a little blast (my first time via the forum), have a hot hatch as the scoob is poorly but would enjoy the challenge of staying with faster vehicles smile

Do you really have a website called 'buttpaste'?! eek

As I'm working in a clients office today, I decided not to go and have a look...

It's warmish, a Clio 172 I've had since new in 02, it's done big mileage as I work and live most of the time in the Isle of Man but my other half lives in Bagshot. My usual Sunday morning car is a classic Impreza with a 2.5 bottom end, and about £6k of engine upgrades + bigger 4 pot brakes and around 350bhp although unfortunately that's sick with a knackered head gasket. Yes, I work for a company that has the Butt Paste website amongst others (it's usually not caught by the 'adult' filters, but sometime it is). I may be at the Farnborough Airshow next Sunday if I'm in the UK so was just thinking about a blast beforehand.

I do like those clios. thumbup

The subaru sounds pretty impressive too but I have to ask, how come it is only pushing 350bhp from £6000 worth of mods? Have you put all the essentials in place for big power in the future?

I was thinking of doing the same to mine but then I figured that for the money I would have to spend on mine I could get a very interesting car. Besides, if I tried abit harder I'm sure I could hassle the S2 around country lanes abit quicker.

TBH I haven't spent all of the money on the Impreza a former owner did , I've just added an Apexi ecu and spent about £1500, it's a bit of a money pit but theoretically will be bullet proof and last years once it's finished. The Clio is great but I prefer the Impreza and would happily run it as a daily driver...eventually. I bought it as I just liked the way it drove but now it's in a shed awaiting the work to get it running again. The power is low for the cash as the one thing the previous owner didn't upgrade was the turbo, I'm waiting to hopefully add one from the new MD series.

I just can't sell it, 126k miles with no faults, just some suspension parts having needed replacing and the engine still feels as strong as it did when new. Give me a twisty and I'll stay with most things smile and I average 35mpg!

Fantastic, it would be good to see your one at the next meet smile
I'm having the final piece of suspension replaced tomorrow (lower wishbones) so it should be steering like new by lunchtime, can't wait! With some kind of rubber steering rack ends (rubber bits I believe), top mounts (they always go I'm told), shocks and a few bushes having been replaced, it's already transformed the steering with so much more accuracy and quiet/'tied-downess' now.

Looks like I may be on my own on Sunday, however, if anyone does want an early morning jaunt. I was thinking..Leave 7 am - 7.15 am from Bracknell Shell garage, then: a very cross country route in Chichester direction, I know some great roads in that direction..I won't be too specific for obvious reasons but please let me know if anyone is interested, I'm sure there's cafe somewhere down there for maybe a suitable turn around point, back by 10am before the Mrs gets up..

I'd avoid the roads to Chichester tomorrow if I were you. Goodwood and all that

Thanks, wise words smile

The fun bits are between Reading and Liss/Petersfield. There's actually no need to go further South/West.
