Wicked Wheels are all over the country and do an ok job, will come to you too depending on the work needing to be done.

Alternatively I have used the following firm who cost less and did a very good job....even collected the wheels and returned them FOC.

BJV are so much better than wicked wheels as they will strip the wheels back to the metal and start again, wicked wheels will just try and bodge what you can see.

This is from personal experience of giving my money to both.

Cool, thanks for the responses guys. I've been to see a wicked wheels place round the corner from me & they said they'll strip the whole wheel back & redo it all for £65 - does that sound about right?

I would like to check BJV out due to your recommendations, however its a bit more of a journey for me.

I'll let you know how I get on.

Thanks!

It' sdefinately worth a call to BJV if your keeping the car (wheels) for a while.

I'm sure if you ask AngryS3owner he will tell you why he rates BJV so highly.

Well wicked wheels is a franchise so maybe you've found one that will do the job right, however I paid around £250 for 4 wheels to be done arond 14 months ago (from memory) and they're now worse than they were before they were done and the finish is crap, spliting and they only painted the front face.

BJV on the other hand managed to make some lexus wheel's off my dad's car and one of mine literally look like new (better than new in the case of the lexus ones as they have a crap finish from the factory). I can tell every time I clean the wheels which one was the BJV one as the finish is hard, smooth and easy to clean. oh There's also the small fact that BJV collected and returned the wheels from home and charged less than the wicked wheels I went too (by some margin), I'll not be going anywhere other than BJV again after the fantastic service last time.

Out of interest how much do BJV charge per wheel? Is the price affected by how bad a wheel is?

All of mine are in a poor state, some really mullered paperbag To be fair they don't come out of the factory particularly well and do deteriorate (sp?) with age. I'm not too fussed about appearance but starting to get slightly worried about corrosion now (do they corrode if the surface finish is broken?)

O/T - I witnessed something yesterday evening that made me feel better about the few times I've curbed an alloy hehe

Chap in a green Lexus IS200 (or whatvever they're called: the ones with the 'lights') tried to exit Reading station carpark with a duff ticket. Was told over the intercom to reverse out and go to the office. At this point he:

Reversed into a curb on his nearside with his rear wheel (curbing it badly).
Drove forward.
Reversed again curbed his rearwheel again.
Drove forward.
Reversed again missed the curb with his rearwheel but curbed his front this time. Tried to drag his frontwheel over the curb but could'nt as it was wet and just span his rear wheels rofl

- By this point I was pissing myself (is that bad? evil)-

Drove forward.
Reversed dragging both wheels along the curb this time and finally made it away from the barrier. Hooray!!

By now his rear wheel actually had a strip of metal peeling off the rim! eek

And this all happened in front of 4 people at the office (where I was) and 2 or 3 cars waiting to leave the car park loser

Ben, did you need to remove the tyres first?
Also, do any of these do new tyres? All 4 wheels on the Beamer need refurbishing and new tyres, perhaps i can get it all done by the same people at the same time?

Dave,

As far as I am aware they take both the Tyre and Wheel and then remove the tyre in order to carry out the work and then replace it once finished.

If this is the case then perhaps they could fit the new tyres for you? I'm sure Ben will be along shortly to confirm whether or not I am talking out of my arse.

I'm sure BJV would be happy to swap tyres over (they might charge for disposal), some were past it on my dad's wheels and they came back looking like new (without tyres) for next time a tyre is needed, I'll try and get a pic of one tonight if I remember. I doubt they'll supply tyres but there's always mytyres etc.

Call them is the best advise I can give, and John I doubt they care what state they're in, you won't have seen wheels with as bad corrosion as my dads!
