M4 between J11 and J10 Eastbound around 45 minutes ago. Small Enterprise Rental Van parked on bridge (Ford Focus size van, not Transit size). Small tripod over lane 3, with a small device attached, I assume a camera (there was nothing over lanes 1 & 2). If it was a camera is was very small (nothing like the big things used inside Tallivans, or the usual radar guns).

Does the PH collective think it was a speed trap, or some other traffic monitoring? Does the Reading area Scamera crew use something like this?

BTW, definitely not ANPR as only 1 lane, no visible Police presence.

Guess I'll know for sure in 14 days or so.

I know the bridge you mean (it's not open to through traffic) and I've even posted a warning on here about a white van on there a few years back.

Thames Valley Safer Roads - the local scamming group do not participate in motorway cash-raking, so it's a mystery to me.

Thanks. I think I recall your posting now...

I was only doing 80-85 so its not the end of the world, it would be my points virginity though...

This is the only thing which fits what I saw: http://www.ukspeedtraps.co.uk/radar11.htm Evil little thing.

Maybe it was just a company conducting trials.

Was it dark? It could just be joe public taking some long exposure shots of the traffic to get the lights to trail. Just a thought.
