Which mapping software?

Do you suggest for creating .ITN files to download into my Tom Tom? Is there a way to create a ITN file from Google Map or do I have to buy some mapping software? If so, Which is best.

We did ours by just typeing 'google map to .itn' into google and used whatever came up. There are a number of programs that do it, all free on t'interweb.
