ROYAL BOROUGH OF WINDSOR & MAIDENHEAD
(SPECIAL EVENTS, WINDSOR)
(TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER) (NO.1) ORDER 1999

I wish to inform you that the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead, using the enabling powers of the above Traffic Regulation Order, have agreed to the temporary closure of Castle Hill, Windsor from its junction with the High Street to Henry VIII Gate. This will also mean the closure of St. Albans Street. This closure is to facilitate the safe movement of a large number of pedestrians attending this year’s Garter Ceremony.

It is planned that the temporary closure will take place on Monday 16th June 2008. The closure will be available to Thames Valley Police to use from 9am onwards, but it will only be used if the safety of the queuing public is judged to be in jeopardy. The above roads will definitely be closed between 1.45pm and 2.15pm and again 3.45pm and 4.30pm together with Sheet Street and the High Street to allow the movement of troops between Victoria Barracks and the Castle.

If you would like to discuss these arrangements please do not hesitate to contact PC 4189 David Morgan of the Berkshire East Operations & Events team at Windsor Police Station. His telephone number is 01753 835527.

Yours faithfully,

Paul Roach
