Good to see you got on the list to make this one, 3 of us are heading up from the Farnham area, see you at the start point. Have you got a map reader with you again this time?

Hey Jim!

My friend is currently on route up from cambridge as i am writing this! This time we are slightly more prepared;

Hopefully better camrea to get some better quality videos + walky talkies!!

Got 2 walky talkies here so your quite welcome to borrow one for the run, can do some people watching. Believe turbofun is also brining one as well.

Could only find some rubbish ones in argos today think it will be a case of 1 use box them up get a refund and get a better set when they come into stock!

Should be a fantastic run what ever happens hopefully no rain, looks abit worrying here in redhill though.

What time you planning to arrive at the start point?
We are hoping to get there at say 5:20-5:30 i think

Hope you are well.

Rob.

We're probably going to get there for 5.45 (ish), going to be a slow run over to the meet point so we have full tanks for the run. I'll make sure I stick with you guy's if you have a map reader as this will be a big run so will probably go the wrong way sooner or later.
Fingers crossed for no rain but either way it should be good fun.
Keep an eye out for us at the start point, see you bright and early.

shout Where are the vids at Robbie?

Definately think a rear facing camera might be worth trying sometime given Nathans driving stylewink

And you have a new role on a hoon now too btw - TomTom technical support!
Cheers for that mate thumbup Once it was working it really was invaluable.

John would you like to say that once we got the "break-away" group sorted, that I did not loose anyone smile

I don't mind break away groups, so long as they contain the SAS bunch and nobody gets left behind. smile

The 2 way radios were a great help for when the group got split up, thanks to Rob for lending me his spare one. I'll have to get some for the next hoon.
The overall pace was spot on, although I have never worked my car that hard for that long before, it really needed a rest at Rye! Brake upgrade here I come!

Anytime jim,

I dont think ive ever pushed my car that hard either! Really great driving by the 911 + scoobys + m3 + clio god you guys were fast, had little chance of keeping up, combination of my driving not being quite as good as everyone elses and the focus was really at the limit or what i felt was the limit on most of the corners. + my brakes were totally shocking and had nothing in them for a good section of the run frown really glad i didnt end up kissing ur bumper john at one point!

The saying bad workmen alway blame their tools comes to mind, and i think i deffinately was to aggressive on the brakes into some of the corners but hey all expereince. Brake upgrade would maybe solve this or just a conbination of that and a different driving style!

Really enjoyed the run but think i will only drive my car like that again early morning it just got to busy later on.

Will have to link up soon for another hoon, when my bank balance is back up after taking quite a hit, Managed 14.8mpg! and also over 2 tankfuls of petrol on the trip. Worth every penny though.

Hi John,

No problem with the TomTom, I'm used to providing 'technical support' for my Dad with his TomTom.

I'm working on the videos now, but you're right, considering we chose to lead the break away group, there's a good 30 mins of video with nothing in it but road flying past.

Should have the first couple of videos sorted for download this evening. You can email me anytime from now and i'll send the password for the videos, and then you can unlock the video straight away when you get it.

I did notice that hehe We had come to a rather abrupt halt at a junction IIRC. I'd had to brake hard too. Checked my mirror to see a bright orange ST nose down, sounding like the ABS was going judging by the tyre squeal. You stopped with plenty of space though, so no harm done.
