Late this afternoon, on the A30, in the centre of Sunningdale, a bike and a Micra came together, just by the speed camera (Waitrose side).

They collided side-on, which is really very odd, but I wonder if the camera had any bearing on it.

Anyhow, the young biker was in a really bad way. The ambulance was with him for a very long time, before they left. I honestly hope he pulls through OK. I've no idea on the micra driver (male/female, young/old).

Be careful out there folks.

I know. It's not nice. I don't like posting or reading such stories, but it does bring it all back home, as we can get so complacent sometimes. Especially in this weather, shades on, roof down, etc, etc.

I pretty sure it can't have been that serious - the only reason i say that is I'm TraffPol for that area and was on duty this morning and i heard nothing about it.

Local Plod can deal with RTC's if they are not deemed 'Serious or life threatening'.

But yes good advice - It is so easy to enjoy the drive too much and drop your guard.

Hope that helps in some way

Wiliferus - it was late this afternoon that it happened. Around 5:30ish.

The accident investigators (in the orangey estate) were there for about an an hour.

They left about 7ish, when the truck came to collect the bike. Not sure what happened to the car - one minute it was there - next minute gone.

But if you can dig up any background info on the biker to confirm he's ok, then that would be cool.

Many thanks.

Kinky lives near there, so he'd be the man to ask.

It was outside his house. Saw it when I went to collect the kids from their friends.

Front bumper had been knocked off the Micra and the bike was on the pavement at the other side of the road. Ambulance was still on scene.

Many apologies - Must take the time out to learn how to read properly......

I do some digging for you, I went off duty at 16.00rs that day so would explain my blissful ignorance.

FYI the Orangy estate, Volvo V70, is the TRL Road Research vehicle - An accident only has to tbe injury, no matter how slight, for them to think about coming.
The official Collision Investigation Unit veh's are still Omega estates in normal battenburg with mast out the roof for a lighting unit.

I'm not back till Tuesday but i'll try to remember to have a look

Not a problem at all thumbup

Actually, I went for a stroll this evening and found said Micra, parked up on the A30, just past the RR/BMW garage.

Looking at the damage closer up, I suspect that the Micra pulled out in front of the bike. It looks like the bike hit the front off-side wing.

Anyway, not for me to speculate. But any news you can dig up would be appreciated.

If it helps, if the accident was a 'KSI' (Killed or Seriously Injured), I very much doubt one of the vehicles involved would have been left at, or near, the scene. Fingers crossed!

yes if it was a KSI the vehicle would have been recovered for vehicle examination

Had a glance, injuries were broken ribs, nothing life threatening.
