Speed Camera Van Warning - A322 Bracknell
Discussion
Hi all,
It seems the BIB have now chosen a new spot for a camera van on the A322.
It's positioned opposite the Shell petrol station / KFC, on the south-bound carriage way, (heading towards the M3), but is aimed across the carriage way, catching cars heading north (towards the M4).
TBH it is well off the road and very hard to spot, particularly as it's a dual carriage-way, so you have to look across 4 lanes of traffic to spot it. Also the usual spot for the van is in the lay by in front of Humphries tyres, so your attention is normally focused there Added to this is the fact that the van is parked at quite an angle to the road, so isn't immediately identifiable.
I am currently awaiting a letter from Thames Valley's finest
Be careful and keep your eyes peeled!

I spotted this the other day well in time (thankfully). They are catching both carriageways, cameras in the rear window catching traffic heading into Bracknell, cameras in the side window catching the traffic coming out of Bracknell.
Not exactly an accident black spot but I am sure they have some sort of justification...................

How hard is it to keep to 40mph there? Lots of cars pulling into the Shell station/side lane at the last minute or pulling out/cutting across for the next roundabout.
I hate scamera vans, but this is an obvious location - I'd rather he was there than somewhere you're enjoying a hoon.
If it's busy you're right, but when it's quiet it's easy to do 50 without seemingly going too fast...I hate scamera vans, but this is an obvious location - I'd rather he was there than somewhere you're enjoying a hoon.

Tbey nicked my wife along there 2 years ago for doing a massive 46mph while she was trying to drive and keep a tearful 3 year old and a 2 year old quiet in the back at the same time.

Which road? I got flashed by the camera on the 308 dual carriageway (near the sports grounds) about 3 weeks ago and have had nothing through.
Think it was the same stretch of road Sushi, pulled into an Esso station on the same road prior to the roundabout. :fingerscrossed:If you don't hear anything within 14 days, you're off the hook. (You may still receive the summons but they won't succeed in the prosecution.)
And even if it does arrive, you might be eligible for the naughty boys school option instead of a licence endorsement (but not if you were doing over 39mph in a 30mph zone).
