Today's England I'm afraid. The really worrying thing is the other party probably truly think they're in the right. Or just pikey chavs out for all they can get.

No insurance was told by police at scene and then confirmed latter on by police during phone call.

ive been informed about the MIB (motor insurance bureau) which is a fund for reimbursing people who have suffered financial losses due to unisured/unfound drivers. which ill be applying for if the claim goes south.

thankfully im fully comp so only have to pay excess but thats £650 as was 20 when started policy.

Sounds like a right stter Rich. Hope it gets sorted without too much hassle and expense.

I had a similar incident driving my parents car 5 years ago. Complete bellend in a Honda CRV was turning right from the left hand lane without indication either. Front of his car clipped my left rear door as I exited the roundabout going straight on. Ended up a 50/50 claim even though he was in the wrong lane.

And if you have legal cover on the policy (or from AA / RAC membership etc ), doesn't your insurer chase the excess back from the MIB on your behalf ? You only get to pay it if the claim isn't upheld ? Maybe scratchchin

Sorry to hear about your incident Rich and hope it turns out in your favour but to my knowledge, insurance companies are resource constrained like the majority of business's these days and incidents at roundabouts will probably settle on a knock for knock basis just to get it out of their inbox!

i had slowed to about 40mph for the roundabout
Isn't the speed limit on roundabouts 30mph maximum? If so, you might want to edit your OP incase it fubars your claim. It's not just PHers that read these threads you know?

Good luck mate

no signs for changing speed limit for roundabout its the same as the dual carriageway.
