Im now goign to drive to my work course in Italy, possibly heading on from le mans weekend taking my time down though italy.

Anyone else done a trip there before and got some advice, or do we fancy a SAS road trip??

I'd definately be up for a trip over to say hi, however I'm going to be pretty much totally knackered trying to do anything before the middle of July (when I'm going to the LeMans Classic) I've not driven my car to italy but I've driven in southern Italy and seen the mad buggers in the north and I think you'll have a lot of fun.

I think it's probably worth trying the ADAC for breakdown cover (they get mentioned a lot on threads about cover for the ring).

If you're heading down the eastern side you'll pass through Le Marche, which is one of the most beautiful regions. These people make a very good base if you're holidaying in the area. http://www.holidays2italy.com/

Another + vote for Le Marche roads. Remember to keep headlights on at all times.. fines if not (I had a VERY narrow escape when I forgot)
