Twin Carb RV8 - Where to get 'set up'?

Hello chaps.

I've posted this elsewhere on the forum but it seems no one has read it..

My cobra has refurbed carbs on a brand new rover v8 engine, and they need to be set up on a rolling road. Where's the best place to go to get this done in hants/berks/surrey?

I am in hampshire, in the newbury/basingstoke/reading triangle, so anywhere semi-close would be great, but I dont mind travelling for the best work.

Finding someone who is good with Carbs is very difficult

Indeed! I know a few guys who are good with SU's on Minis, but not on RV8s.

Motorworks in Marlow are worth a 'phone call.

Mostly Jap/Bm work, but willing to tune the carbs on a mates buggy.

Try Tom at Airey Tunining (between Winchester & Petersfield) specialists in classics & carbs. They set up my AX GT carb a while back.

You could try Simon at Thorne Motor Sports (0118 945 4058 / 07836 503450) in Tidmarsh. I know that he's done a lot of work with various Rover V8 engined cars but couldn't say whether that's with carbs or fuel injection. Worth a call though...

Used to take my old Rover 3500SE and the Vitesse to Pheonix Garage in Hartley Witney.
Don't know if they're still around but they used to do a good job on both the 3.5SE with twin SU's and the Vitesse which was highly modified.
