Breakfast in Reading
Discussion
So Mrs Olf and I often wake up on a Saturday thinking how nice it would be to have someone else cook breakfast for us. Unfortunately we draw a blank on this one.
I'm a traditional English breakfast type chap. I'm looking for quality (as well as quantity), so good bangers, free range eggs etc.
She's a girly, left wing, lettuce muncher so pancakes with fresh fruit kind of thing.
Where would you suggest within a say a 15 min walk of Reading town centre (the walk is important!).
They also need to be child friendly.
Thanks in advance

I go to the Gorge Cafe when I need a hangover cure. Good fry up, no idea if they sell anything else (I'm usually struggling when ever I go there).
Its near Caversham Bridge next door to the BP garage, opposite the big hotel. Probably more like a 20 minute walk from town along the Caversham Rd, or along the river from Reading bridge.

OKay thanks. I have had a rec for that before. it's particularly popular with ex Reading students I believe. Its near Caversham Bridge next door to the BP garage, opposite the big hotel. Probably more like a 20 minute walk from town along the Caversham Rd, or along the river from Reading bridge.
It's a little to far for us unfortunately.

Theres a free car park across the road by the hotel if you need a stroll down the river to work up an appetite
My wife might think it is too close to the Merc garage Okay we'll give it a go, at least until we find the perfect cafe in walking distance from our house with the Prince of Wales' best bangers on the menu.
Some hope.

Not the best bangers available but reliable.
I recommend Tootsies in the Oracle. I make it conditional with the wife if we go shopping, that we stop here for breakfast. Try it you won't be disappointed and they are family friendly which is great.
