Guys you've probably seen Im looking out and about for a new job at present, and was wondering what companies youve worked for that might be relevant, and your experiences, to drive my search forward.

Heres a over view of what and where I am:
Presently I am a Product Co-ordinator for a Major motoring manufacturer, and used to be a Customer Support and Events Manager in the Automotive Electronics industry.

I would like to change jobs for something along the lines of Marketing, Events or Project Management, as experience tells me I enjoy these and I'm supposed to be quite good at these. I would like a position to get my teeth into, with a good team environment. If possible within the automotive, or electronics industries (or a combination of) however this isn’t a definitive.

I'm based near Junction 9 of the M40 with good transport links to London, Birmingham, Northampton, Milton Keynes, Oxford, Newbury, etc.

Wouldnt mind working in London either.

I would also welcome any suggestions as its easy to over look titles withput realising.

Thanks in advance

Dave

Well, as said before Vodafone has a big marketing and projects dept.

Other big companies relatively local... Porsche in Theale, Honda in Slough, VW & Daimler in MK, Prodrive in Banbury, Radical in Peterborough (not quite local but still lol), Inchcape (car dealership) head office in Watford

Thought about the F1 teams being in Oxon? You've got Renault, Williams, whatever is based at TWR's old place, Honda, anyone still based at Silverstone

Jaguar near Warwich were recruiting for software engineers last week so maybe they'll be looking for projects managers too.

My lot are recruiting but I would only suggest working here if you're getting really desperate.

If you are considering IT you could try Research Machines near Abingdon; Milton Park just off the A34. Always recruiting, great benefits and apparently one of the 'Best Places to work in IT' according to Computer Weekly. They do a lot of event management, shows etc, as well as currently recruiting for service project managers and co-ordinators according the website below.

I know a few people there and did I mention they apparently pay well too? wink

I am in the same boat, made redundant on the 31st October - contracting back 2 days per week from the 30th November!!

Current contract runs until the 28th Feb so now is the time to get off my ass and find a permy role. Lots of work around in the IT market at the moment, SAS, Adobe, Microsoft, VMWare, EMC, RSA, Symantec are all recruiting across the board at the moment.

Funny enough I have been a project manager for the past 4 years and am looking for a change, either back into managing a team/department again or possibly an account management/sales type position........

Good luck with your hunt!!
