Ahoy!
Wondering if anyone has sampled any Japanese restaurants in the SAS neighbourhood - where, how much, how good?
Thanks!!!
Miyaki in Ascot, food is pretty good and nice atmosphere, does get busy at weekends so booking is advisable.Wondering if anyone has sampled any Japanese restaurants in the SAS neighbourhood - where, how much, how good?

Its on the right as you leave High St heading for A30 at the bottom of the hill, used to be called Marrakesh.

Xen in Reading (Friar Street I think) or the sushi bar Queen Victoria St Reading.
Went to Xen a few weeks before xmas, thought the service was diabolical and the food was mediocre. Took them two hours to bring the main course out after clearing our starters, and there were only ten at our table!Between Friar Street and Broad Street are two places next door to each other - the Beijing Noodle House is good food served in very simple surroundings, the restaurant next door serves a more traditional Chinese restaurant menu in more upmarket surroundings. The kitchen is shared and the food is always excellent.
Im not sure exactly what SAS is, but over in this part of surrey you have Maki Yaki in Surbiton and Kingston (the Kingston one is more aesthetically pleasing shall we say, but both do an excellent selection). In fact, I can't think of anywhere else I've been with such a massive selection.
(The surbiton one is off the beaten track and doesn't look great from the outside, but I actually like that, as it generally means we don't have a problem getting in on the off chance - the food is great)
