Ok bear with me on this but here are the early stages of a plan,

Starting with This route,

The roungh idea being to include

Le Mans Evening out
The Millau Bridge poss or evening picnic or lunch under it!
Monaco Photo's and cruise the circuit?
Reims for some bubbly and home via the Duty free?

"Detours" on to some of the Evo routes etc?

in 3/4days, Euro Star Thursday Evening/Early Friday till Sunday late?

Like I say a rough plan but any thoughts, wouldnt be till say, late May to avoid the peak holiday season?

Any Ideas? would you do it?

Dave getmecoat

(Can you tell im home alone!)

I know its early stages but do you have a rough estimation on price? If its too high I think I'll be taking a flight to scotland and having some fun in a hire car! biggrin

£90 for le tunnel
Well 3 nights accom @ £50p/n approx
Fuel? Depends on your car
and Food? Booze etc?

I estimate my car at 300-350in fuel alone yikes but it depends on the driving really I have a heavy right foot and ride the revs allot....

Sounds like a plan scratchchin

Is the Monaco thing optional - did that a few years ago and it was a bit of an anti-climax!

I did something similar a couple of years ago, 7 countries in 7 days, was bloody hard work and lots of miles but I would be up for a blast through again, maybe miss the Monaco part though as JR said there is not much there ( have to do Mont Blanc tunnel though!! )
Any one watch Top Gear last night? Now thats a road to find......

Done Monaco so many times, agree it's a bit dull, Millau bridge is a very long way into France with not a lot else to see, i would suggest doing that on a Pyrenees trip (Andorra, Spain).
Mont Blanc tunnel since the big fire and subsequent rebuild a few years back is not as good as it was, they watch you now (speed cameras monitored from control station).

Nige: missed TG, what road?

I had been planning a slightly longer trip, starting like this:
1. Reading to La Rochelle
09h18m, 542 miles, 38.70 tolls, 144.07 fuel

2. La Rochelle to Millau Bridge to Marseille
09h10m, 553 miles, 38.80 tolls, 149.32 fuel

3. Marseille to Monaco to Venice
08h10m, 490 miles, 52.00 tolls, 140.75 fuel

If anyone was serious about coming to Morocco then I reckon we can include the Milao bridge on that, however I'm probably up for this, depends how everything works out though as I'm probably going to the LeMans classic in July as well.

Have looked at this route and can see the only reson for going to the south of france would be for the bridge? unless any one can mention another benefit track or road? This would potentialy be another trip as it adds 1000+kms on, or there could be a natural break point into two groups home and milau? depending on numbers.

Heres the non milau route

It woul look like a meet at Brussels Thursday Night, then Friday to Davos (Via stelvio) Stay in Davos, Saturday back up "the road" to Stelvio, yes two runs, and let those who want take pics on the pass etc on Sat AM
Then which ever route back milau ot not to milau that is the question?

Blimey.... 2000 miles of solid driving! I used to do quite a few night rallies (100-150 miles) and I was aboslutely exhausted at the end of those. Would it actually be enjoyable??

Charlie, Nigel and I did 2500miles in 8 days around Europe back in October and it was great, including the day where we did over 1100km between the Nurbergring and Krakow, however I'm not sure I'd want to do that every day.
