Sorry chaps, was going to leave them out, but when I started adding the others and thought of starting a new thread it just didn't seem to make sense, looking back I actually wish I'd taken more photo's which is a little shocking.

I did take more (and have more of some of the above) but it's too many to post, I also had about 150 of Phil racing and the other races which I managed to delete somehow (yes I'm a tt) frown

Great shots Ben. Happy Christmas to you sir. I agree with E1DJH, very moving. With regards to the racing shots What size zoom lens were you using? Just trying to work out if my 70-300 is going to be any good for classic Le Mans.

To go to Auschwitz was a very humbling place, and I would suggest that if you get the chance then do it........Christmas is a wonderful time of year but the cruelty of man shows how it can go wrong.

Merry Christmas everyone.

Same camera etc. I had with me at LeMans, it's a cheapish 70-300mm APO Sigma lens and seems to do the job okay.

I think a slightly longer lens might be helpful for LeMans because of all the health and safety boocks but if you want to get decent pics to then we can find decent places to watch etc. and it might not be so bad for the classic.

Brilliant pics Ben!

And I'm glad you added the Auschwitz images; something worth reminding about, especially at this time of year... A place that I wish more people had the courage to visit.

Nice pic's Ben and a good call to include the Auschwitz ones. I visited Yad Vashem in Israel earlier this year and the images there are truly chilling and incredibly emotional. Never Forget.
Hope you all had a good Christmas and hopefully see a few of you on the 30th?

Excellent shots. Auschwitz looks bleak. Not a place I really want to visit.

A few friends and I were in Krakow back in March and we paid Auschwitz a visit. Whilst it may have been the most somber day of the holiday it was certainly the most important. It really brings home the horror of what happened both there and the Birkenau camp just down the road. Anyone who has the opportunity to visit it should definately make the effort as it is an experience you'll never forget.

Slightly OT but by chance a few of us visited Pegasus bridge a few days after the D-Day anniversary enroute to Le Mans this year and that's another place that's well worth a visit. Their museum has an excellent presentation that explains exactly what happened and why, which was great for someone like me who didn't know much about it to begin with. It leaves you with faith in humanity rather than a sense of dispair like Auschwitz did, particularly in the current political climate.

Well said Paul, I also visited a lot of the D-Day landing part of the coast in France this year when we were on our way back from LeMans, however we didn't make it to the Pegasus Bridge which I'd like to see at some point.
