Driving instructors
Discussion
Picking up the new toy this weekend, and although I'd like to think I'm a better than average driver (don't we all?), I'm more than willing to put my hands up and say "HELP" someone teach me how to drive this thing.
Now although I've owned and driven some nice cars in my time, Jag XK8's, Porsches etc.....BUT this weighs 1060kg fully fueled and produces over 600bhp.
Anyone know of any decent instructors that can give me a few lessons on how to tame this beast and hopefully drive it properly without wrapping around the first big tree I come accross?
Thanks in advance
Simon

Steve from Ride Drive is very good and he lives in Maidenhead. http://www.ridedrive.co.uk/
Absolutely, i had a day and a half with him after i purchased the Chim. I had been driving for over 25 years, but learnt so much from him, and the experience greatly improved my enjoyment of the car.Steve is a top bloke, and very easy to get on with.

Nice one, thanks for the link Don Palmer - many people (myself included) have spent time being coached by Don - Maidenhead based too.

The one pictured in my profile....Ultima Can-Am, more than welcome to come for a spin as you're practically a neighbour http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1GlFPi3dlVY
I'm just the other side of Henley by the way!

Hi Simon, stay behind me I only ever go slow. Seriously Don Palmer great had day with him many years ago on wet handling in Holden which pretty much corresponds to dry handling in an Ultima. Just remember it will let go in most gears, only use those pedals when you are pointing straight. Soon will have our own Ultima club around Maidenhead.
