Avoid Wycombe this afternoon
Discussion
I know it's good advice at the best of times, but it seems as though it's especially relevant today as the M40 is effectively closed from Wycombe onwards.

The motorway has been shut southbound at junction four, northbound at junction three and the slip road at junction two has also been closed. Motorists are advised to avoid High Wycombe for the rest of the day.

Sounds like a nasty one though BBC story & BBC travel news
It does and no disrespect was meant however I do feel that the authorities are all too quick to close roads these days and keep them closed for a long time, almost as a punishment to motorists or as some kind of perverse statement about road safety. Not so many years ago they would quickly clear-up and get any evidence necessary in order to get the traffic flowing again as swiftly as possible. Not any more...i cannot believe some of the comments, i was delayed by a while this evening due to this accident, the central reservation was flattened, more importantly 3 people died and 11 injured (hopefully there will be no more fatalities) but the outcome for me and everyone else was we still got home and didnt die, think of the families here rather than the authorities leaving the road closed for too long, in fact at about 1.30pm on the London Road in High Wycombe a recovery truck went past me and all the other traffic with a police escort so that tells me they were going as fast as they could to sort it out

No problem, it's only my opinion and maybe this accident was a bad one to comment on because of the loss of life.RichB said:
