Hi all, back now.

I’m sure you have been worried about whether I have had a good run out or not, and I’m pleased to say it was lovely. A great drive out, reasonably empty roads, lovely pub for lunch, and on the way home found the A338 from Wantage back towards Hungerford – that stretch of road has to be done again!!! driving

ETA Pictures:

Nice position to park by the Thames

A quick refreshing pint (nono soda & lime)

Self portrait. Weir in the background, weirdo at the front nuts

I didn’t realise that Peacocks can fly, but this one got on the chimney somehow!

Hey Dizeee, sorry I missed you, but I seem to have collected a few more bugs. Any chance of some help over here?

Nice job there Dizeee, very shiney!

I was playing with the delay shoot function on the camera, no need for the waiters.
It is a lovely pub that i used to use for business lunches about 10 years ago, and i hadn't been back since. It seems quite expensive, so i expect i'll be taking Mrs H to lunch there soon

I only managed to clean my windscreen before setting off, the paintwork and wheels are a disgrace from Sunday(but the light in that picture makes it look clean). I have Friday planned for proper cleaning, before Saturday's "Le Mans sticker application party".
All welcome, especially anyone who has experience of applying Viper Stripes

I have some spare screw cups that you can have James if you would like them. Give me a shout next time you are passing, or perhaps Ben could pass them on to you?

You two have been reading my thoughts. I'm in the office thinking how nice it would be to tackle some country lanes or clean my car I'm just glad its a bank holiday weekend coming up as I might then have the chance to do one or both of them
Loving how clean the astra is though, looks spot on. What products have you been using on it?

Sorry chap, I was just taking the piss, I've got a complete set of screws and caps if you want them as I didn't use them on my nice shiney new plates.

When I have the bother/effort I can make my car pretty shiny but I just have to push myself to claybar the whole car...

I've clayed two cars to date. All I can say is its not as bad a people make out. Makes a massive improvement to the car. You really can feel the difference. Plus when you come to apply polish / sealant / wax the products will glide on and off with ease!

Have to agree that just cleaning the wheels makes a huge difference. The tyre shine finishes them off nicely, although I'm not a fan of the glossy/shiny tyre shine. I like more of a matt look.

The one bit of advice I would give is do not use a meguiar's water magnet as they have been known to inflict swirls. Get a Sonus Ultimate Drying towel they are the daddys biggrin Also are you using a grit guard and the two bucket method? Make a huge difference wink
