I've been to a few of these events before taking photos, and they look like good fun. The next one is at Thruxton kart centre on the 5th May (The weekend of the BTCC race.) It costs £220 to enter a team, (£55 each for 4 people.) and with all the interest in karting here last christmas, I thought some of you might be interested in forming an SAS team?!

I'm not sure if I'm good enough to drive myself (Having only got 9th on the grid at the Christmas race and then spinning out on the first corner!) but if I don't drive I could always be team photographer. It depends who's interested.

They usually work by allocating one or more professional drivers to the amateur teams entered. They can be from all sorts of evnts, BTCC, GT's F3 etc or if your really unlucky you might get a commentator! (fortunately I've not ever seen James Allen at one of these events.)

With the standard of some of the drivers at the christmas meet I think we could stand a good chance of winning! Event into here;

Note I'm not volunteering to do all the organising although of course I'm happy to help out, but I'd rather not do the finances!!!

Anyone interested?

I would be, however if you're worried about people not being good enough, not sure I'd be welcome... rofl

Nope it was going to depend on who's interested but as your the only one so far I don't think that would be a problem! Although it would probably help if we didn'tget lapped every other lap!

We need 4 of us for a team, so shoutAnyone else?!

In an attempt to generate interest, if anyone wants to see the sort of thing that goes on you can see the previous race either NOW on men and motors or on Monday 26th March 2007 on ITV4 1930 to 2100.

I've decided I don't mind doing the organising now if I can get 3 other drivers!

Although the Thruxton race will (obviously!) be outdoors!

I was thinking of doing that, I thought I'd get loads in here especially as it's the area for Thruxton. I'll give it a bit longer then put something in GG.

Maybe try the surry one too, some of the people that went karting technically fall under surry I think (that's if any of them look in here).

We've nearly got a team then! If I can get 4 definite drivers I'll look into putting in an entry.

Right we need to get this sorted quickly. Ben is that bloke you mentioned on Saturday a definite? If he is I'll emial the organiser this week to see if theres any space left. If so, then we'll need to enter as soon as possible so we'll have to work out some way of collecting the money up so I can pay him.

It looks like there is still places at the moment but they don't update the site that often so more of the 15 slots could have gone.

If there's still room for me (and I was 1 place slower than you at Sandown) then I can get the money to you anytime - I live close by.
