Pub needed for lunch...
Discussion
...ideally at the end of a very nice road to drive!
I'm just off to pick up the new car and would like to find a nice pub, away from london. Starting out near Slough, cough, I mean Windsor(!) and want to head West or South not really fussed, would just like a nice drive to a nice village or town. Someplace by the sea would be nice.
Any ideas??

I wouldn't worry too much about finding a pub that does a nice meal.
Let's face it, you aren't going to get Gordon Ramsey type food in a pub!
I'd be more interested in a long winding road. I once drove to Eastbourne to stay at a camping site and what sticks in my mind more than anything was the drive. I can't remember the road b ut I think it was the A22.
I also rode my motorbike down to brighton using nothing but A roads.
Btw, I like the way that you admitted starting from Slough - I actually missed Slough (my home town) while in Canada on a winter holiday last week and this week while on a course in a town in Cheshire.
We haven't got it so bad in Slough. Congrats on the car. I drove a friends Boxster a few years back and even though I wanted to (jokingly) tell him it was a shit hairdressers car, it was brilliant...and I think that was a 2.5L.
Like all motor critics say, if someone doesn't like a Boxster, they haven't driven one.

Slough still hasn't won me over, I'm just slightly outside the main part so it's not too bad, but I can't say I like the toen centre.
It's funny you should say that about the Boxster, I remember back in December when I started looking for a car, I walked past a Boxster on my way to test drive an EVO MR340 saying, I'd never buy one of those, then I drove one. I love it!!
I'll bear your roads in mind, could be good for the summer
Actually ended up here, www.thehorseguardsinn.co.uk/index.php doesn't look the website has been updated in ages, but the food was awesome, and there are one or two good roads round that way!!
