New speed limits
Discussion
Anyone else noticing new limits springing up around oxfordshire.
I drive these road a lot and have never seen any indication of any requirement for these roads to be dropped from NSL to 40.
It was only a few years ago that they were dropping limits on these roads. They are now dropping the limits further down these roads so instead of it being NSL they now go 30, 40, NSL. At this rate there will be no NSLs anywhere. In all the years I have driven these roads (3 or 4 times a day) I have never seen one incident.
Is it just a bunch of idiots sat around a table coming up with ways to justify their wages or was there really a need?
Very irritating.

On Surrey local radio yesterday that they are looking at removing NSLs and replacing them with 40's where they're being used "as racetracks" - note, nothing to do with actual accidents or casualties - simply because a council bod thinks people are driving too fast. No detail on whereabouts yet.

They've kind of already done it. I now have to travel many miles to find a major single carriageway road with a NSL. Of course, like most other drivers, I still do 60 if safe to do so.
