Is it the same alloy as the one below by any chance?
The ones on my Audi looks like this:
If thats right then they cant be too different to refurb..?
You are absolutely right though, the more spokes the higher the price. At Montys the guy told me outright that he would not touch split rims on the early quattros as they cost so much to refurb you may aswell buy a new set.

I guess that is probably why the price is so high.
Well when I am in work tomorrow I will grab the number for montys so you can ring and get a quote. They may turn out cheaper and even if its a little too far for you to travel you will get some idea of what other people charge for the same job.

I decided to go with Elite wheels, mainly because they're very local and it's easier for me. They've got my car this week - due to pick up on Friday, but I've just had a call saying I need a new rear tyre! My car only passed its MOT about 2 weeks ago and it intially failed on one of the front tyres - seems a bit funny they didn't pick up on the rear tyre........hhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmm.

I've just popped down to Elite Wheels in Reading for a quote to get the alloys on my Honda S2000 refurbed. They've quoted me £70 per wheel. Is this reasonable and can anyone recommend anywhere else in the Reading area?

I was very pleased with the job that B.J. Vallack did with my TVR alloys, and they also provided a free collection/delivery service from Bracknell, where I worked at the time.
This does, of course, mean being without your wheels for a period of time!

I had mine refurbed today (previously horrific build up of brake dust). The photos are at www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=366002&f=23&h=0
Anyone in this neck of the woods (Epsom), I would really recommend Dent Angel. To have them redone in silver like the originals would've been £160 all in. I got the black chrome finish for an extra £5 per wheel (although he did admit I was the first person he'd tried it on, so he might normally charge more).
Between stripping the wheels, respraying them and everything, he was here for 6 hours. My home office overlooks him, so I also know he was working bloody hard for 6 hours £180 for 6 hours labour and materials struck me as a bargain!

Used them myself several times - they usually pick the wheels up off me on a Tuesday morning and drop them off again three days later on the Friday afternoon. Excellent job every time - powdercoated, not painted, so the finish lasts too.

The powder coating definitely gives a good finish (I had quite a lengthy conversation with the main guy there about the merits of powder coating vs. the original diamond cut finish). Here're a couple of before and after shots:

They looked just as good as new when I sold the car two years later as well:

They've just quoted me £118 + VAT - PER WHEEL
