For at least week a road between High Wycombe and Booker airfield, a few yards north of the M40, has been closed with a police car or van guarding the junction. The other day there was a fleet of police cars and vans parked nearby.

Does any PH'er know whats happening? Presumably some kind of search.

Do you mean the one that turns off the main road that runs parallel to the M40 for a bit?
Not sure - maybe something to do with the anti-terror thing?
Total guess

if its Horns Lane then it's been closed for about 4 weeks while the Police continue their search for bomb making equipment. I hope they open it up soon as it's one of the routes I use to get to work and has been a right pain in the backside as I now have to go through Wycombe instead mad

You're right - it's now turned to £8m and Thames Valley are picking up the bill and b1tching because they can't afford it!

By tonight, it'll be £12m and Hampshire will be paying!

Yeah, well im not surprised they are bitching to be honest. That is a hell of a lot of our budget gone on a met operation.

And with the government cutting our budget next year, it can only get worse.

As mentioned above it is/was closed because of the police search. I know some things that have been found and even if the cost of it has been running into millions what they've been finding has been making it well worth while.
