I gather every year, somewhere near Sonning, there is a house with an Xmas light display like no other... is this correct? Totally covered in lights or something

Also - Upper Basildon out past Pangbourne has a competition which results in a huge display on most of the houses, including a Santas Grotto at one of the farms - complete with animatronic Santa! Take the kids there every year to look at the lights.

You're too late - The owner has an Asbo preventing him displaying more than 500 ligths (IIRC) and 4x 6 foot statues.

However...

He has a cunning plan...

It's called a snow machine, and it will be started up at 5pm on Saturday night

I'm sure he was doing it for charity too. Had a donation box outside. I think part of the complaint was that it was a Private Road and the neighbours didn't like that it attracted a lot of traffic. There was a police van parked outside permanently last year.

Shame!
