The guys on the london section tried to organise a karting meet but it never happened. I was wondering if any of you lot would be up for it??driving Since the weather is gonna be nasty for a while i was thinking of sandown park (on a rainy day if luck is with us). Anyone interested?? I was thinking of sometime between xmas and the new year (not sure opening times that week but ill check). Names, free dates and any other venue ideas so we can see who is up for this.

I'm up for it. I organised a karting event for a group of PHers earlier this year - good luck

There's a reasonable indoor track just off J4 of the M3. The only real problem with indoor tracks is they're quite short. Still a laugh though! linky

So long as we can get the full track at sandown, I'm happy!

Put me down, oh and put kinky down, he can find out later what he has been roped into .

I could probably get 2 or 3 of us together, would prefer Daytona , either at MK or in town.Reasonably flexible time wise too.

The Sandown one is Daytona .

We should get numbers but if we fall short I have a few friends who are pretty quick in go karts that would definatly come.

I might be interested if I'm free. Thruxton has another excellent kart track although its obviously a bit further to go.

Add me to the list too please! Any time between Christmas and New Year should be fine by me.

I've done a few laps of Thruxton kart track this year so somewhere else would be good, but I'm game for anywhere. Another PHer (jwyatt) may come along too if he's free as we've said about racing again soon!

Well I've actually got the week off this time so I'd come along anytime between christmas and new year, thruxton was great but a bit far and outdoor.

Is Sandown indoor or Outdoor? I actually prefer outdoor tracks even if it is a bit cold at this time of year!

Its outdoor. If we have enough people then they will open up to the full track which is great fun, the ball will have to get rolling very soon for this one so that we can book it (unless there are alot of fair weather drivers about hehe).

I could be up for a bit of karting over the Christmas break. What sort of race are you looking to do?

Well I have done a couple in my time, so I quite liked the 'Iron Man' (if they still have it.

It basically consists of a 10 minute practice time, 10 minute qualifying time and then two 20 minute races. (if my memory serves me correctly!)

Another one I did was purely based on the fastest timed lap, so we hooned around the track for a our allocated time until they called us in at the end.

I'd fancy an Iron man contest if it still exists, atleast that way you get to spray around cheap champagne if you get on the podium. hehe
