So in the same week that Cllr Howarth announces a new carpark with 600 spaces, he also announces congestion charging tests in Reading...

Time to join Graham and leave this labour run shit-hole

Surely a typo, it should read "council theifs"?

"Reading has a problem with congestion, and we are looking at ways to tackle it." Yeah - the plan to make the IDR one-way is just bound to help! And the constant ttting about with J11 helps too.

And just where did they get all the pro-comments from? "Uh, yes, we'd all love to pay an extra £5-10 on top of the car-park costs everytime we want to shop".

Tossers.

One good thing is that in 5 years it will be a ghost town with no traffic and then we can use the IDR as a race track!!

It is a f**king joke.

I wander where they propose to start the charge zone.

I come to work from Purley on Thames on the Oxford Road so depending on where is starts I would have to go through an already congested Pangbourne (over 30mins to get through it) and then onto the M4 which is nose to tail. I guess thousands of other people we use other routes just moving the congestion elsewhere.

Just as you get into Pangbourne, turn left before the scamera into Sulham Lane. Follow it for about a mile and a half, then turn right at the end. Brings you out next to the Greyhound in Tidmarsh

Yeah I have tried that a number of times but the time I leave that road backs up to.

Guess I will just have to get my backside out of bed earlier

Actually, going up the hill at the traffic lights in Purley takes you to the road that leads to the Greyhound as well.

Why would anyone want to go to Reading in the first place? Oh, I did to have my vasectomy. It bloody hurt.
