I'm after some bits for my jelopy Volvo, I've found A1 Wokingham Car Spares & Scrap Metal to be good because you can go and root through the cars there, rip the bits out you want, show the colour of your money and walk away with a bargain.

This is what I like and it seems they are a dying breed in the ever growing market of "specialist" used parts suppliers who strip cars and then sell you the part off the shelf or over the web. Invariably pricier and indeed not half as much fun, although possibly a lot safer than prizing a steering wheel off a car piled 3 cars high!

So where else is there in and around Reading, Wokingham, Bracknell where I can rock up and scour some old wrecks for that bargain bit?

Search on google for scrap yards/cars parts etc and you should find a site that has a database that I know for sure the ones in Iver use.

I was looking for a part for my Masda Xedos a couple of years ago (quite rare cars) and I had a couple of e-mails letting me know they had the parts I wanted. If you have nop luck finding it let me know and i'll look myself when i've got time.

Padworth Breakers near Mortimer were very helpful when I needed the cage that supports the seat - removed it in front of me showing me what to be careful of when putting it in to mine etc.

They are at:
