OK, just coming through Aylesbury, heading towards Wendover, off Friarage Road (the Ring Road DC), right onto Walton Street along past that funky insurance company office. Ahead is the 'triangle' bit with lights. Doing 30-35ish probably, definitely under 40. Probably a smidgette too fast I know.

Approach lights at the triangle junction (Wendover Road = straight, Stoke Road = right) and I see a Tallivan over the railing on the inner kerbage, back window open, camera pointed down Walton Street towards town. All cars on his side of the railings heading into town will see him clearly.

So. Do the PH collective have experience of whether he was scamering the rear of traffic which had just passed him going into town or me coming out of town. Using his super zoom lens he probably had a good view of me coming off the roundabout for the first 150-200M before I disappeared behind the railings in his scope.

Also, if there were 2-3 cars 3-4 seconds in front of me doing the same speed and he took a momento photo (or freezeframe) of them does he then have to look away for a second or two to make sure he's caught your best side/write down the reg/time etc? Or can he just click away on his camera all afternoon and not have to write anything down? (maybe this is why they have 2 operators? One to look, one to note down details?).

If I get a ticket its not the end of the world, but it would pop my cherry for UK driving. Lucky I was in the A6 and not the TVR I guess :-)

Any locals being caught here before?

Ta.

P.S. 20 minutes later I saw a Fiat Cinquecento nearly wipe out a few cars on the M40 after deciding it didn't want to exit at Loudwater (lane 1 exits), but go to Oxford instead). I wish the Tallivan was there to photo it. But then it was only doing 60mph (sorry, just annoys me when someone drives dangerously and gets away with it).

They get you as you go down from the Giratory (The triangle) towards the council buildings. (They used to hide behind a nice hedge on the island but they chopped the hedge down lol)

They also like to sit on the nice straight bit of road near the Renault garage, they park near the gas works place on either side of the road.

Other favourite place is near the camera not far from the police station by the roundabout for the grange school.

Yes they were parked there today on the giratory. Spotted them well in advance and crawled past doing 25 in 2nd gear making lots of noise Yes they take the pics as you go down towards town, not the other side going away from town...

I've also seen them parked in the bustop i think on the tring road next to Parton Road shops. Only ever seen them there once though..

Thanks guys. Sounds like I'm OK then.

Yes, you'd have to be crazy to exceed 30 after just having passed their glaringly obviously parked van. Not so simple from the other direction though.

Mum got caught doing 35 along there.

It's absolutely disgraceful, there are feck all signs to say its a 30, only when you enter the area over by the Ford garage on the A41. I realise its got streetlights and is in the centre of town, but its a dual carriageway and people have been doing 40+ along there for years, its only recently they've started clamping down.

They were back on the Giratory this morning (7:40) as I went round it. They were parked slightly differently today.

Instead of being side on to the long straight down the hill they were parked with the back windows facing down the hill. So either they've moved the camera so that its working out of the back windows or they were catching coming around the giratory (using the side windows)

Hi Tony,

All's good at this end, just counting down the days until my office moves closer to home! A 3.5m bike bike ride has got to be a lot better for me than a 23 mile commute!

How's things at your end?

Yep our little house is now full of kitty litter, various toys and two lovely silver tabbies Lilly and Archie!

They are so much fun and as an added benefit i've been given permission to order a new LCD TV, so that will arrive on Tuesday! (By the way Chris the cable arrived yesterday - Thanks very much!)

We ought to sort out a beer one evening soon!

Regards,

Phill

Hi Phill

Glad to hear everythings going ok. Kittens sound like a bundle of fun. We used to have cats when i was at home, 3 of them. Had a load of kittens from of one of them too. Going back quite a few years though.

Organising a meet for a drink sounds like a good plan sometime. Have you spotted the latest Dunstable Hoon on 4th March by the way. Different format to the usual though. I should be there but not sure if it'll be in the Griff or not...

Oh yeh I've had the Griff back for quite a while. Its just that it'll either be in for a service and a little work, or it will be sold and replaced with somthing else.

Due to me changing jobs and i will be moving too, i need to temporarily free up some cash and then return to another TVR at a later date...

It depends where i get a new job, I've had interviews around this area including Aylesbury so chances are i wont be too far away. Just got to find something interesting that pays good money! I'm mainly looking round Maidenhead are though as it seems to pay more round that way..
