My go-to place for somewhere that treats wheels carefully and knew what they were doing was Black Boots/Wheels in Motion in Chesham. The people there set up race cars and were well regarded in owners forums.

It now seems to be just another Protyre outlet. Not a bad thing in itself but not exactly a destination place.

Is there anywhere in the region that’s worth trying?

I always use Martins Tyres in West End, Woking (not far from J3 on the M3).

I've never found better prices anywhere else and they've been very helpful for a tyre repair and cleaning up rims when the tyres weren't sealing properly.

I use Elite Wheels in Reading almost exclusively, they are very very careful and have handled all my wheels including my centrelocks with great care, family owned and run ....

I'll throw in Farnborough Costco, if you have access/they stock the sizes you need. As it's on appoointment, they are not under pressure for the next job.

I just had a set of PS5 fitted, >£200 cheaper than MT, on newly refurbished wheels. No damage, cleaned up sealant, well balanced. I've never had an issue with them. Had them do tyres on a different car in April.
