Looking at the directory, Grosvenor are suggested as a good independent. Are they still good (very conscious of how old the directory is!)

My wife's 2 Series has lit up with a couple of errors and I don't want her to go to the main dealer...

We've used them for about 15 years and are happy with them. Certainly easier to deal with than Coopers/Inchcape/whatever-they-are-now, and totally trustworthy. On the other hand, they're probably not as cheap as you might expect.

Cheaper than a main dealer though I assume?

I haven't had a BMW now for about 3 years, but I can tell you that for all the years I was running BMWs (2 x M3, M135i, M140i, 330i) Grosvenor were more expensive than the main dealer every time.

So I never used them, and when I queried this they didn't really care, and certainly weren't going to budge on price.

Anyway, its been a few years so things might have changed - but worth double checking.

Depending on where you are you also have the option of RBM in Hook and Fergies in Thatcham.

I have used Grosvenor and they're certainly not cheap but they are always rammed so are clearly doing something right.

Yes I have found them to be expensive too.

If you can go the distance RBM in Hook are brilliant and I paid several visits to them with my M2.

Thanks all. Hook isn't terrible, it's for my wife's car, so it's down to her really. I present her with the 'highly researched' options this evening!
