Gatso Camera Lines on the M3
Discussion
Just a heads-up folks.
Driving into work this morning ... joined the M3 southbound at Junction 3 (Bagshot/A322) as I do every morning.
And there, about 1/2 a mile further were gatso lines painted on all 3 lanes. They were not there yesterday and there was no camera (yet) that I could see in my mirrors.
I don't know if they are northbound too - they were not last night when I came home.
Be careful out there folks.

saw today the scamera van on top of the high bridge on the brow of the hill with pc plod pointing his money gun at the traffic below, very hard to spot but they are there hidden behind the old vw camper!!!!!
Is this in the 50 limit as your going towards bracknell ? - IE next turn off for bagshot
Sam
And what time?
I go past there circa 08:00am every morning Southbound - neer seen anything - other than all the cameras they have mounted the whole way along that stretch.
Rarely come home that way - prefer to go via the A30 - a ncie run and a good way to wind down.
Except for tonight ..... an Audi RS estate and a DB9 - both easy doing over a ton - with the Audi approx 3-5 feet off my bumper

M3 News Flash
I received this tip off about some filming that Hants Police are doing for a television programme series from yesterday (26th September) for seven weeks.
If you use the M27 or the M3 this potentially affects you so please proceed with caution and pass onto anyone who you feel might just need to know.
The program a BBC South commission called "Traffic Cops" will be filmed covering the area from Ringwood concentrating on Ringwood M27 up to M3 J9 and a team working the ringroad around Southampton (Totton will have a unit working it alone), Cosham M27 stretch to J5 of the M27 (Southampton Airport turn-off). The fourth concentration is working from Winchester Services covering M3 to J10 M3 (Winchester South) using five unmarked cars, two Black Skoda 03 registration Octavias, an 05 plate dark red Mondeo and two Volvo saloon cars.
The BBC unit are going to be based out of Southampton and will also be covering the armed police response unit and the Southampton Airport Police Security / British Transport Police team.
The BBC team are in Citreon Picasso MPVs leased from Arriva.
To make it even more effective the Traffic police have authority from Chief Constable to "work to rule" So instead of the laid back approach to the usual Hants traffic police this will be a lot more concentrated to make it effective filming.

Cameras = Cha ching, which is wrong
However I actually quite like those traffic cop progs
In my opinion they do rightfully so, focus in on the arse running, mobile phone using, double white line crossing motorist, not the ones progressing at 90mph and leaving a nice big gap, reading the road ahead and not really doing anything we'd define as dangerous.
