My neighbourhood forum and Runnymede BC where I live are looking to bring in 20MPH limits, road narrowing and dedicated cycle paths in the Runnymede area and some of this will affect the A30 down to the Maranello roundabout at Egham.

There's a referendum and all residences have been leafletted to encourage residents to vote YES to the plans on Wednesday, despite many residences not being informed that there's a neighbourhood forum and not having a chance to object to the plans at an earlier stage.

If you live in Runnymede and have the opportunity to vote, I would encourage you to go to your polling station on Wednesday 13th December and vote NO.

That is mad! redface

I can remember when that stretch had a 40 limit an two lanes going up the hill. smile

I suppose they justify the cycle lanes because of Royal Holloway, but I can't remember ever seeing any students cycling on it!

Why do they feel the need to mess things up?! It’s bad enough that they changed the A30 from 60 to 40. Pointless.

Unfortunately not close enough to vote - but they've made a real mess of the traffic flow on the local roads with the limit changes.

Progress is severely limited no matter where you go. We really don't want to end up like the Welsh villages......

Seems like an excercise of power for it’s own sake.
Students don’t need a cycle lane there. It’s too steep. And there’s plenty of facilities in walking distance, on the level.
