Local advanced driving.
Discussion
Are there any local driving schools/instructors that would teach car control in your own vehicle? I'd love to be a bit more capable in mine.
My M3 nearly caught me out the other night off a roundabout in the damp.
I've seen various places that will teach you in a Caterham or a they're a super car driving skidpan type thing.
Not really what I'm after though.
Happy to travel!

For road driving, I'd highly recommend the IAM. I think it gave me a good foundation to learn the basics of car control and 'the system' so to speak.
At the time I did it (2013) the Skills for Life package was only about £100. The skills that I learnt there still remain and think they are definitely of use.
In addition, I'd recommend HPC as a follow-up (you'll probably see it mentioned in the Advanced Driving section a bit more). Think of it as a follow on from IAM/ROSPA for keen drivers.
Also, something like the CarLimits Activity Day (not sure if these are still run?) are really worthwhile. It's an opportunity to explore the limits of grip in your car in a wide open space with no risk of damaging the car. I found it particularly useful in the Elise shortly after getting it and learning where/when I did and didn't have grip, and how to deal with the unexpected.
