Oxted , Surrey meet Wed 11th August
Discussion
Hi guys, after a 2 year hiatus the mid-week Holland Sports Car Show is back on in Oxted, Surrey, Wednesday 11th August 2021 19.00-22.00. ( Mill Lane , Oxted, RH8 9DG) The previous 3 events have had a good PH turnout so giving you the heads up early on.
Firstly many moons ago I was the one that started to PH Botley Hill Farmhouse meet, which morphed into the PH Grasshopper Meet, which that delightful chap Umair took over from me and lets not go there...........:-)
Holland Sports is another great local venue. Last time out mid-week ( who does anything meaningful on a Wednesday evening anyhow ? ) we had over 200 cars and motorbikes, 400 people and a superb garden BBQ party atmosphere with music out on the grass.
This time we are stepping it up a bit as apart from the usual excellent reasonably priced BBQ and fully stocked bar, we have legendary DJ Smiley Dean playing a live vinyl set of ska / reggae / soul / rare groove out on the terrace. There will be an area dedicated to bopping about and a Mod scooter chapter will be joining in the fun.
As usual this event is totally FREE and local businesses have sponsored several trophies to be awarded on the night for different categories. Great summer event, and if any local PH'ers want their own dedicated area to park let me know as a few other car clubs have done the same.
Arrive from 18:30 onwards to park up. RH8 9DG All classic / sports / interesting cars welcome.
Please respect the grass as if people **** about doing donuts we will lose the venue.....

Thanks for arranging that.
I went to a couple of the Grasshopper meets in 2015 (hard to believe it was that long ago) and really enjoyed them. So many amazing cars from Minis to Ferraris and everything in between!
Such a shame that it seems they got killed off by Umair.
I really hope I can make it, but I'm in the throes of moving house which may interfere.

Definitely hard to believe how time creeps up on us. Hats off Lee for putting in the effort to re-ignite this one and i'll be there
Brilliant mate, come and say hi! Although I should be on the gate letting you all in! I just ordered £300 of trophies on behalf of the local business’s that are supporting the event, and are expecting 250+ vehicles if the weather is kind to us!! Meeten-5dulx said:
As I live in Scotland I didn’t pay attention to this, but today find myself in Surrey, about 30min from Oxted.
Might pop along with my 11yr old son.
Any idea of what sorts of cars will be there? Pref ones that makes a young lad happy…
Hi mate, historically there has been a mixed bag, from supercar to daily driven classics and competition cars. This time we have motorbikes and a couple of scooter chapters of mods. Outdoors dance area with a live vinyl DJ playing 60/70’s ska, reggae, Motown and BBQ etc. Trust me your kid will enjoy it!! Might pop along with my 11yr old son.

Great event last night and such an eclectic mix of stuff to look at. Nice to meet you Lee and put a face to the name. Cracking effort in making it happen and fingers crossed we get invited back to do it again sometime. I took a few pics so will post them up in the thread in the events section.

Thanks mate, nice to meet you too! If anyone got more than 30 seconds out of me they did well!!! Was rather busy.... We had around 500 vehicles and 1,000 people in there, on a Wednesday......... way more than we expected. Lots of lessons were learnt, we will hopefully be back next year with multiple bars and a proper music stage, bigger and better!
