Hi everyone, maybe someone has got a recommendation for a diesel specialist not too far away?
There don't seem to be ANY Bosch diesel centres within 50 miles, and from what I can tell recommended specialists are all further out.
Lynx Diesels who came highly recommended have closed, and I can't find anyone else.
Any suggestions are welcome

Sorry, I need them diagnosed and possibly refurbed, getting them out/rethreading would be a secondary task

Watford too far away?

Diesel Dave @DFIS off Tolpits Lane is very well known and been about for years. Done work on a couple of my Trucks over the years. No issues with Recommending him.

Thanks for the suggestion!
Watford is slightly further than my current list of options, but will keep it in mind

Np!
Would you recommend Rayner for an injector job? I did spot them when searching, but couldn't find much in the way of recommendations/results of their injector work

Always really helpful, even when we just ring for advice. I'm sure they would tell you if they thought what you wanted wasn't do-able. Great reviews in general, even if not specifically injector related. Worth at least a phonecall IMO

Yep, can confirm they are quite helpful, had a good chat, but sadly they don't a have a full on CR test bench, instead sending off to another place for in depth diagnostics.

I've found a place in Bicester, but failing that it will be a trip down to Southampton.
Rayner also told me some outfit on Portman Road in Reading got the equipment from Thames Valley Electro Diesel, so will try to find out who that is

indeed it was, but sadly he doesn't work on cars per se, just the injectors - I wanted somewhere that could also check over the rest of the rail and replace glowplugs, so went down to Eastleigh

Why not try https://www.peter-strong-diesel-fuel-injection.co.... his place is south of Reading a mile or so from M4 J11.
I`ve used him many times when I was in business. Good bloke, real old school diesel expert.

Looks like I might be too late, but you could speak to these guys in Guildford: https://www.sasguildford.co.uk/

Thanks for the suggestions all, will come in handy as I am still to solve the issue.

Peter Strong seemed to be more of an agri/older style tech specialist and his opening hours are pretty tight, so I didn't research further.
SAS popped up on my list today, and they even work Saturdays - they seem to avoid detailed descriptions of what they can do with faulty injectors on the website, so will give them a ring

Not sure if you still need recommendations, but I had Perryn from Thread Doctor remove 2 stuck glow plugs on our old Freelander. I mentioned that I wanted the injectors tested and he said he uses Lower Earley MOTs - http://www.lowerearleymots.com/

After 160,000 miles they were definitely needing a refurb - some only had 2 of the 5 jets clear! I got refurbed injectors from M&B in Eastliegh - https://www.mbfuel.co.uk/contact/

Both places were approachable and helpful.

And yes, I was lucky that I managed to wiggle the old injectors out after some soaking in PlusGas, having read all the horror stories of having to remove the head etc.

Thanks, might come in handy for someone else researching this.
Judging by the limited info on the website, Lower Earley MOT only test them, they don't actually code/refurbish?
I am wondering if they are the place that got the equipment from Thames Valley Electro Diesel when they closed, but the location is not what I'd expect.

MB Fuel is where I wanted to get in to, but they seem very good judging by how much of a wait time there is!
