Aircon specialist
Discussion
Have a Discovery Sport not blowing cold air. When under warranty had the same issue but really piss poor service from LR. In there several times to pressure test as they couldn't find any leaks to resolve the issue but on the third attempt they said it was a software issue. Been fine for 2-3 years.
Low and behold a bit of warm weather and no cold air again. Loathed to go to a main dealer as it is now out of warranty and heard (read) stories of multiple hundreds to detect leaks etc etc etc.
I suspect it is a software glitch again but want to make sure that the system is gassed to correct levels.
I have read that people have used Kwikfit or Halfords as they only charge for gassing if it is necessary, which seems a good first step but as much as I am loathed to use either company,
was just wondering if anyone would recommend a local specialist to undertake this task and not get ripped off.

I used Gary fix my issue I had on the 5 series the other week, turns out there was a large hole in the condenser, so needed a new one. Diagnosed on the Tuesday, repaired on the Friday. He's mobile, based out from Woking.

Anothervote for Gary. He helped me out with my 911 after I had refurbed the system. Really knows his stuff.https://autoairconditioningltd.co.uk/services/

If you're anywhere near Reading, I have used Giorgio (https://www.premiercarservices.co.uk/) a few times and found him very good. He's basically a mobile aircon guy who does some other servicing stuff as well.
Another vote for Georgio, he sorted my Range Rover out for me just today (it needed a new pipe) so a bit of a coincidence to stumble across this post today! I've been using Georgio for over 5 years to sort the air con on a variety of cars. He won't BS you. He has not yet been unable to find where the leak/issue is. He's also usually happy to carry out fixes if you want him too, but also happy to leave you to it if it suits you.
Main thing is for a little more than Halfords charge for a automated top up, Georgio will come to you and do a proper job of it.
All in all, I wouldn't recommend anyone else if you anywhere near Reading. [thumbsup]

He was very thorough and tested both cars. Unfortunately one car had a leak in the condenser that meant he could not do anything more that day but he did provide a quote for the work if we want to go ahead in the future. Thankfully the other car did just need a regas.
No connection, just a recent, happy customer.
