I am not familiar with fence technical terms. I can only describe it as skirting board - like you see indoors. The fence has skirting to the bottom and it’s bowed/rotten. I would like this fixed to make the garden look tidy.

Any recommendations welcome.
In and around Hook.

Thank you

Thanks. I know what to ask for now. I emailed and voice mailed several companies but it’s been two weeks and no one has got back to me.

You could try joining your local 'nextdoor' site. I think each area in the country has one which is linked to your postcode. https://help.nextdoor.com/s/article/How-to-join-Ne...
You join your local area and then you could either do a search for 'fencing', or put a post on the site asking for recommendations. There are often smaller companies that advertise or get recommended that would sometimes get overlooked via 'Google searches'.
I'm a member of our local group and there are often good recommendations for plumbers, tree surgeons etc.
However, the site does have its downsides as a great deal of the posts are clearly from local 'busybodies' who like the sound of their own voice.
Use for browsing services, but whatever you do, don't start browsing other posts, as it'll make you despair...!

Thank you. You’re right it is awful. A search brought up a handy man. Will message him today.

I had an awkward fence repair. These guys were great, chatted through the options and kept cost and disruption to the area being worked down.

Dropped them a line. He was honest and said the reason people aren’t probably getting back to me is because it’s too small a job. The way I see it. Companies advertising they’re are happy to take on minor works would see it as a job. May be some are doing quite well. An Oxford guy I got in touch with said he had a two month waiting list! Anyhow they will email me the quote and I said if I’m happy I will throw some more work their way. Thanks though!

Look up the price of a gravel board. They are cheap. If the fence lifts up between concrete posts you could probably do it yourself very easily.

It’s not that I’m a woman. I gym. I can even change a wheel. However, in this case. I wouldn’t have a clue where to start.

It's just online shopping then either get it delivered or click and collect style. Get a spade to loosen any soil at the bottom of the fence, remove old wood, replace with new one. Or go on your local Facebook page and look for an odd job handyman.
