I've lived in Guildford for 20+ years but I'm sure there are loads of great roads I've never driven - what are yours?
And yes, I know about the Hindhead Tunnel!
If anyone wants to show me some roads one weekend I'll gladly follow in my Alpine A110 thumbup

I love driving across the ranges between Brookwood and Mytchett. There are speed limits so one does need to be careful.

I am in Lightwater, another vote for the route above. Some great bends and smooth road surface, almost feels like a track.

Agreed, on these areas. Quite a few 40 or 50 limits, but several national speed limits and the lovely straight road near Brookwood Cemetery to test 0-60!

The A286 from Milford down to Haslemere is also pretty good.

Good call.

Bit further south, but A3 to the Stroud exit and up towards Winchester has some lovely views and nicely wiggly roads, then the A31 home is quite a nice run.

Thanks very much! What a great little road, drove it at the weekend - lots of fun. Absolute hero whoever put together that route on Google Maps.

Some nice roads down towards Horsham and the Pirbright bends

Was following a Tesla model 3 dual motor down some windy dual carriageways today and some he was driving in a spirited fashion. road was pretty empty and good visibility a bit windy and some bumps

The Tesla went around a bend and caught some bumps and looked pretty unstable , skidded and electronics kicked in car came back in control and drives slowed right down

I've got quite a few decent Hampshire/Sussex/Surrey hoons all in Google "My Maps" which doesn't translate to Google Maps too well, but I've taken one from my old bike days and updated it for Google Maps.

It's an early morning run for sure, as the roads can get busy, but a good mixture and ends up at Loomies Moto Cafe for a butty and a tea before the return leg. I haven't tried it in a car yet, but was fun on a bike.

Not quite Guildford either, but not a million miles away as it does include the A31 and ends on the M3.

Dumb question - the 2 google map route on here (which look great by the way - thanks)! How does one actually get them to work? Do they need exporting or set up somehow?

Cheers in advance

If you're reading this on your phone, clicking the link should open it in Google Maps.

For you to "Start" it though you need to be close to the first waypoint. If you are not, you will only be allowed to preview it etc. That last bit caught me out.

It's a shame that Google limits the number of stops, otherwise the other option is to edit the route on your phone once it is open and add the first waypoint as "Your Location" and it would work as you'd have naturally thought it would. Most of my old ones are more than 8 waypoints, so I've had your trim them down to 8 and have lost some route fidelity

This one is only 3 as it's the "Evo Triangle" in Wales they have used in the past for road tests and photos.

You can add "Your Location" as the first waypoint easily in the Google Maps app, by editing the route (the app adds "Your Location" as the last waypoint, but you can drag it to the top)

I live near Virginia Water, but I used to get the bike out and head to the back roads around Pirbright and Normandy, or go a little further afield where there was a gem of a road between Basingstoke and Alton. Or head south from Dorking. It was a while ago now and many of those roads have probably suffered at the hands of the speed campaigns by now. I rarely ride the bike these days now that I have something sporty with four wheels and a soft top. And I find I don't need to go as fast to have fun. Definitely up for a run out from time to time...
