Hi All,

I am in Leatherhead and I'm looking for recommendations on where to go for a 4 wheel alignment.

I have had very bad experiences with Kwik Fit places in the past - I know they use the Hunter system which is good but the system is only as good as the operator!

Recommendations gratefully received - happy to travel.

Thanks.

I've used Blackboots / Wheels in Motion in Amersham before - really good and highly recommended, especially if you've got a special car or particular asks or advice you need.

Also used ALS in Wokingham - place doesn't look like much (and is 'arrive and wait') but were also very good.

Hope that helps.

I've been taking my BMWs to TWG Automotive in Camberley for years and will be getting the springs and shocks on my Z4 replaced there followed by an alignment.

Will who runs it uses it to set up his Legends race cars, so I expect he could do other makes too.

This place lists all the garages that use Hunter equipment. Should be able to find someone local to you.

Wheel alignment centre in Southampton. £50 for a full set up and Nick knows his onions. I wouldn’t let anyone else do the alignment on my cars anymore.

Tried contacting Southampton Wheel Alignment without success.
Elite Wheels & Tyres, Reading fitted me in same day on a "while you wait" appointment.
OK it took rather longer than the hour they'd indicated but Maz requires multi-adjustments front and rear.
Fortunately all my nuts and bolts were free thanks to previous maintenance, so
they charged for the time taken rather than a fixed price which worked in my favour.
Set-up now looks pretty good on paper and it drives well.
I'd recommend them whatever you drive, they're good guys and sell tyres too.

I used ALS Wokingham this weekend - 4 wheel alignment after both nearside wheels clouted a pothole.

Cracking job, nice guy in there that clearly knows his stuff. Wasn't cheap, but quotes for check + alignment that i got from a few places locally were all £100 plus.

Car feels much better now.

Off topic, ALS is next to a car wash place. I'd recommend PH'ers avoid this - one of the staff dropped his chamois leather on the floor then straight back onto car to wipe off water. No thanks!

Merrows in Farnham.

I have been taking cars to Martin the owner there for decades. He knows his stuff and is one of the few people in the motor trade that I actually trust! Not sure whet he charges for a full 4-wheel alignment, probably varies a bit on what you have. His tyre prices are also pretty good and his advice on what's best for your car is great.
