Hi

First off I think Banbury is Thames Valley

I need to be in Oxford for mid morning on the Friday of the first week the schools go back in September
Its is probable that this might be a bit of a hell hole congestion wise

Not being familiar with the area Ive looked at the Park and Ride choices and realised that a return rail ticket from Banbury plus parking is probably going to be competitive on price if not cheaper and will also save me a degree of time and frustration with the outer Oxford traffic

This naturally requires that if I roll up at Banbury station at 9-10AM after every other commuter has parked up and jumped on a train there will be spare spaces

Thanks in advance

Pretty sure there are usually spaces in the East Car park which is other side of the railway line, just allow an extra 10 mins to get there, park up and walk across the footbridge.

To be honest, outside rush hour times I've not had too much bother in Oxford on a week day. Not been down there for a while, but I never had an issue parking at the ice rink, or you could park and ride in.

I go from there a lot, you'll always get space at the top of the east side multi storey at the station (next to the post office sorting centre). RingGo code 2625 if you use the app.

Try and park on level 2 as it takes you straight to the ticket area.

What he said. Mayhem is done by 9.30am on weekdays.

I suggest Pear Tree or Water Eaton Park & Ride if it’s town centre you’re going to (assuming coming from the north as mentioned train from Banbury)

Thanks for the comments

I have just had a schedule change dropped on me and the date is now clashing with a University open day

Cheers
