Do all of these have speed cameras fitted.
I went under one ( the first past J3) at a little over the 60 ( well it was nearer to 70!!) Didnt catch it due to the sun.... Mia Culpa. So do i sit and fret for 14 days or breathe a sigh of relief
Only the ones with yellow boxes.I went under one ( the first past J3) at a little over the 60 ( well it was nearer to 70!!) Didnt catch it due to the sun.... Mia Culpa. So do i sit and fret for 14 days or breathe a sigh of relief

99.9% of the time I
1) do keep to the speed ( well limit plus 10%) on the GPS
2) spot the limits way ahead and hit the limit going under
3) just hoping that it came on as i was within the 'dwell time as all the other traffic was beetling along at the same speed
Having been on a SAC nearly 5 years ago i don't really want to sit with a hankie in my mouth for three hours , although it is cheaper than the fine and points... perhaps i was unlucky and had a speaker who knew bugger all
Did you know only 5 road signs are mandatory fixtures, all theothers are only erecrted when there is an incident at that sopt
AND
Whenever you see a SLOW on the road indicates a fatality
You couldn't make it up

Yes that is exactly what was said, as was the five mandatory signs IIRC they included School, level crossing, ped crossing and a couple of others. I couldn't believe what i had heard. So after the course Ii wrote to the AA ( who were in charge of the course) and asked them if this was true.
They come back very quickly and said the person concerned would be 'retrained'
I did ask on another forum about the road signs as i wanted to be sure, as i had been on newly opened roads that had the ' non mandatory ' signs erected. A road planner confirmed that what was said on the course was a load of tosh, so the letter went off.
There are the occasional threads in General Gassing about these courses. You are warned at the beginning not to be provocative as
it could result in your ejection and you will not only lose your 90.00 fee but also pay the fixed penalty and get a bonus of three points, YET you are told to participate and encouraged to ask questions, but dont question what we say!!!!
On a light hearted note there was one chap on here wh owas on a course and answred a question which could have been taken in tow ways HE was reprimanded when the incorrect answer was given and was told to 'Listen carefully to the question before answering' in a very schoolmarm way. Later she was sowing a picture of a multi-lane SC and asked him 'What speed can your car do on this road?
He replied about 130 at which point he was invited outside and given a bking. When she had finished this tirade. he just said I listened to the question and answered it correctly. She looked puzzled so he repeated it What speed can you car do on this road' NOT what is the legal limit on this road? My car can do 130 so i answered it correctly. He said it was a smart arse reply ,but she really got on his nerves. However she just said OK back on the course!!
I have put another on General Gassing another thread about mis information and would appreciate Furtive and Hants rat and any other trafpol to look at it and pass comments
