Recommend me a restaurant near Bracknell for ~23 people

Birthday meal - needs to be good food and under £30 a head for at least 2 courses, preferably 3. Ideal food is gastro pub stuff - posh burgers etc. Needs to have at least one vegetarian and one gluten free option - and allow a few kids under 10.
Any ideas?
Yorkshire Rose was favourite until they sent the details and it appears they are charging more for 2 courses than they would if we simply walked in off the street and ordered from their menu (and on a Wednesday evening at 6pm we almost certainly could).

Pushing the budget slightly but Hinds head in Bray?
Would get my vote, but even if we could get in I think the food would be "too posh". I suggested Bluebells - which I rate highly - but apparently that's not the right kind of food......Edited by kiethton on Thursday 6th September 08:39

Peacock Farm is a nice venue, should be comfortably in budget
That menu looks promising - the kind of food I think is expected, and promising prices. Thanks.Keep them coming!
Have you tried the Brickmakers in Windlesham? My perception is that they'd be more on budget than the Ascot grill.
The other similar to the Ascot Grill would be Piccolinos at Virginia Water.
Or the Thatched tavern in Cheapside - space might be an issue though.
I wasn't aware about Bluebells - I guess there'll be another 'name' lined up for that site.

For 23 you're likely going to have to pre-order. It's unlikely that anywhere will take a booking in the standard way as they would for a table of 4. You'll need to choose the venue carefully if you want everyone served at anything like the same time - many kitchens might struggle to cope unless they gear up specifically.
Hope you have a great evening!

I don't know - what they said was that they had been made an offer they could not refuse to terminate their lease early. Makes me wonder if the site is going to be used for something entirely different.ElectricSoup said:
That's a solid recommendation, OP. Great pub.I used to live in Binfield - the service at Peacocks Farm was pretty random!
The Shepherd's House was way better - and our experience of the Yorkshire Rose was just that it got worse every time we went.
If you want to "push the boat out" the Hinds Head in Bray takes a lot of beating.
Have a great time wherever you go!

As I mentioned earlier, Ascot Grill was the favourite and that's where we went last night. Food was excellent, and the staff did an excellent job of maintaining around a dozen separate bills for one large single table.
Dishes worth mentioning - the guy next to me had the "ultimate burger" which was enormous - and apparently tasted as good as it looked. I had ribs, which were also absolutely massive and superb. Will definitely be going back there at some point, although with rather less people.
