Copied straight from Facebook..
Not going to be pretty.

  • BAGSHOT ROAD UPDATE** Bagshot Road Southbound will now be closed between the Sports Centre Roundabout and the Hilton Roundabout. This is due to the close proximity of the hole to the second lane and also to allow machinery and vehicles through to complete the repair. The road closure is expected to be in place until Monday, 10 September so please use an alternative route. The primary diversion route will be from Twin Bridges via Mill Lane, A3095 Crowthorne Rd and B3430 Nine Mile Ride with a secondary route signed via South Hill Rd, A3095 Crowthorne Rd and B3430 Nine Mile Ride
.
Please follow diversion signage and check https://roadworks.org/?tm=108137685 for updates. We apologise for any inconvenience.

Wow, that's quite a hole!

But why on earth does it take a week to fill that in and surface it? banghead

Typical BFBC approach to road repairs - make it as difficult as possible for motorists. It took over 6 months to build a roundabout on the A3095 for access to Broadmoor with single lane traffic for at least 3 months! There is a type of event that they couldn't organise in a brewery. furious

Yet Surrey Heath are getting the roundabout on the A30/A331 junction reconfigured - OK the plan may be for 40 weeks, but there will be no running lane closures during the day. Result!

Mind you it's a shame they didn't work on that basis when they put the cycle lane along the A331 that no cyclists seem to use). laugh

I had the pleasure of using the A331 / Meadows r/bout yesterday lunchtime - i managed not to embed my car down the chasm that had been left exposed where they're currently working but the Merc Sprinter parked just round the corner hadn't been so lucky banghead

On the corner of the Yellow Box storage place, where it bends around to go back towards Watchmoor Park / M3, it appeared a lorry had probably gone around the corner too tight and managed to take out a fair number of the red & white plastic safety barriers that had been placed inside the similarly deep cavernous cut out of road / kerb / pavement like the hole above, which is forming part of the widening works.

No-one from the contractors seemed to be bothered about fixing the now majorly exposed chasm. I imagine they probably got onto it later this afternoon if a few more vehicles smacked their wheels / sills down into it - like the Sprinter had done.

I saw an artic with it's trailer wheels in the same chasm on Wednesday - what a tw*t!

The cones are there for a reason - if you can't negotiate them you get what you deserve! And maybe you need to look for alternative employment.biglaugh
