Any 'cut to length' timber places around Wokingham

Got to build a new back gate, and dont fancy buying half a forest from Wickes etc. So, is there an 'old fashoined' hardware/timber place that i could go to and get 2.5m of 50mmx 150mm 2 off etc etc

If they don't have a wood mill they will be able to point you to the nearest branch with a mill and will cut to the sizes you want.

Unless your back gate is an odd size why don't you just buy a pre made gate?

Word of warning, when you cut timber to your desired size unless they are left with a decent sized offcut (typically about 1.8m) you get charged for the whole length anyway.

Yep, realised that.
That is why i want it all precut so i can minimise wastage. PLUS even my Vovlo wont take a 2.4 length of timber!!

B&Q in Reading down by the Madjeski have a saw & will cut to size.

Pretty sure Travis Perkins in Crowthorne will cut to length for you
