A217 Average Speed Cameras

I've obviously been living in a cave for the last few months but I drove from Banstead down the A217 towards the M25 on Saturday and noticed average speed cameras have started to go up on the lamp posts either side of the road.

I had thought the recent roadworks were for new water mains but perhaps they combined tasks?

Anyway, does anyone know when/if they're live yet? Tried searching Google but not finding anything informative/recent at all.

I'm not condoning speeding, but I'll miss how fast I could get from Banstead to the M25 in the early hours but will be grateful that the bikes might bugger off somewhere else!

I had posted about these cameras on this section too but PH mods removed the post! something to do with rule 17?
